JAYHAWK REPORTS: UPDATE INFO
I am reposting my JayHawk Reports (Parts 1-5) to alt.sex.prostitution. I am
no longer posting these to a.s.services or a.s.brothels. This brief FAQ is
designed to give some basic introductory info concerning these reports.
These reports are assembled from my many years of experience with street sex,
massage parlors, and escorts around the world. Some of the material is
fairly old, so wherever possible I list dates to give you a sense of how

I. The San Francisco Bay Area
If you are looking for sex for $$$, San Francisco is undoubtedly the top
city in the U.S. in which to find it. Women are numerous on the streets, and
the selection of massage parlors is outstanding. You can also pick up a copy
of "The Spectator" or the "Pleasure Guide" for $1-2 in most adult book
stores. These monthly newspapers are loaded with ads for anything that
tickles your fancy, and even include discussions of where streetwalkers hang
out in the major cities, when police crackdowns are coming down, etc. If you
are new to the area, these are a must, and some massage parlors even put
discount coupons in their ads!
A. Street Sex:
AIDS has definitely cut into street sex in Northern California. In the
mid-1980's, the hot areas would have 20-40 girls working on any given night.
Now, the best areas are down to 4-8/night. Still there is lots of action to
be had. Prices are pretty consistent over the entire Bay Area and vary
according to service and the age/looks of the girl. The younger, prettier,
or kinkier, the higher the price (of course!). My experience is that a blow
job will be $20-40, blow job + sex is $40-70, and anal is $50-100. 50% or
less of girls will do anal. In San Francisco and most peninsula cities,
Thursday night is vice night. Don't ask me why, but many girls have told me
to stay off the streets on Thursdays because the undercover cops are out in
force. I have been out safely on Thursdays, but use extra caution.
B. Massage
The Bay Area is loaded with massage parlors, with a very heavy emphasis
on Asian establishments. These are congregated throughout the area in a few
key cities: San Francisco, San Mateo, Oakland, Berkeley, Mountain View, Los
Altos, and Sunnyvale. These come and go based on local politics, police
raids, etc. In general, the price is much lower in San Francisco than other
areas, simply due to the huge selection that keeps competition high and

C. City by City
1. San Francisco (Accurate as of November, 1996)
Street Sex: The hot spot in San Francisco is the Tenderloin
district. This is the area north of Market Street that is bordered by
Larkin, Post, Powell, and Turk streets. The best action can be found on
Ellis and O'Farrell between Jones and Larkin; Geary is also pretty good
between Taylor and Hyde. It only takes about 10 min to drive over every
street in the area, so if you have a car, cruise around for a few minutes and
figure out where the best girls are that night. The girls come in all shapes
and sizes; many white, Asian, a few blacks, and not many Hispanics. Despite
the terrible reputation the Tenderloin has, it is generally pretty safe.
This is quite close to the theater district (Geary IS the theater district)
and there are usually lots of people around. Beware of Larkin above
O'Farrell as there tend to be a lot of rip-off artists and transvestites. I
once picked up a stunning blonde on the corner of Hyde and Post, and as we
walked to her place, her hips didn't move right from behind. I said, "Excuse
me, but are you a guy?" He was, and was I embarrassed! I muttered something
incoherent and ran to my car. I have been told that some girls can be found
at Octavia and Haight too, but I have not yet confirmed this. San Francisco
has started a "School for Johns" that is like traffic school, except that
johns picked up go to classes where they are lectured by ex-prostitutes,
police, etc. If you are caught soliciting sex, you can usually go to this
(if you have no priors) and have your record wiped clean. A task force
recently recommending decriminalizing prostitution. They have a web site

about this program.
Massage: Oh baby! San Francisco has a wonderful selection of
massage parlors, mostly located in or near the Tenderloin. These are nearly
all Asian (especially Korean, Thai, Viet Namese), many change names on a
regular basis, and the girls change pretty regularly. Rarely can you go back
more than a month or two later and find a favorite girl still working there,
although there are some exceptions to this rule Entry fee is generally
$35-40 for 45 minutes and this includes a shower and a reasonably good
backrub. The girls will generally do anything for a tip, and typical prices
are $30 for a nude hand job, $40-50 for a blow job, $50-80 for straight sex,
and $60-120 for anal sex. About half the girls will do anal. Most places
are listed in the Yellow Pages, so that's a good place to start. Also check
out the San Francisco Examiner or Chronicle under "Massage" in the
Classifieds. My favorite is Blue Sky Spa on Larkin between Ellis and
O'Farrell, which consistently has really beautiful Asian girls that will do
anything at a reasonable price. Yoko, Kim, and Susan will all do anal sex,
and all three have worked there for some time now. Most places like to have
you take the next girl in line, but I always ask to see all the girls (unless
I really like the one that greets me) and they will nearly always comply.
Also be careful of a few places where you will be greeted by a stunning
beauty, led to a room, then a different (less attractive) girl will walk in
to give you a massage. If she looks too good to be true then ask, "Will you
be the one to give me a massage?"
2. Oakland/Berkeley (Accurate as of March, 1996)
Street Sex: Whereas the San Francisco street scene is almost festive
in nature, Oakland is pretty grim and gritty. The main action area is on San
Pablo Avenue running all the way from Berkeley into downtown Oakland (about a
5-mile stretch). Best action is on San Pablo between MacArthur and Grand,
and on Market between MacArthur and San Pablo. You might find a little on
MacArthur between San Pablo and Telegraph. This is a high crime area...lots
of random shootings, carjackings, you name it. Use extreme caution! This is
one time you will be kind of happy to see police around, and they generally
don't bother guys picking up tricks. However...in March of '95 the Oakland
Police started a sting operation with a good looking blonde cop and they
busted a couple dozen guys. (See my Part V for info on avoiding police.)
For a slightly safer area, try University Ave. in Berkeley between San Pablo
and Sacramento, or San Pablo just north of University Ave. A reader reported
that 14th St. starting on the other side of Lake Merritt and going on 14th
all the way into Hayward was also a good site, but I can't confirm this.
Massage: Oakland and Berkeley have a pretty good assortment of
massage parlors that are scattered about, and most are in the Yellow Pages.
Most in Berkeley are on or just off University Avenue. These are similar in
style to San Francisco ($35-40 for 30-40 min massage and shower), with a
slightly poorer selection of girls. Some Berkeley massage places (e.g., Tiki
Spa) will give you a free handjob with the $40 massage if you ask, but the
girls don't take off any clothes and you can't touch any part of them except
for fondling their ass through clothes. Other Berkeley places charge an
extra $20-30 for a hand job, and most girls won't do much else. Not
recommended unless you are desperate. Golden Gypsy on Telegraph Ave. is
pretty much full service, where a hand job is $40-60, half-and-half is $100+.
I have not tried Normandy Massage in Berkeley, but have seen positive
comments about it on-line. Oakland places will generally give you the works
for a tip: $30-40 for handjob, $40-60 for blow job, $50-90 for straight sex,
$70-120 for anal. Oakland and Berkeley places almost never give you a choice
of girls. If you ask to see the girls, the one who greets you will say, "I'm
the only one available right now." If you aren't happy with her, come back
later. The best in Oakland is Oriental Spa on San Pablo Avenue around
13th-14th streets, although even there quality is variable and ranges from
stunning beauty to older and heavier women. One irritating thing I have
noticed is that the 10+ beauties will generally do less than the grade 5-7
older women...although one of the most heavenly experiences I had there was
with a generally unattractive older woman who nevertheless really knew her
anatomy! Angels Spa in Oakland is also not bad, but I have only been able to
get a hand job there...although a pretty good one.
3. Mid-Peninsula (Accurate as of November, 1996)
Street Sex: The mid-peninsula has had a lot of ups and downs lately.
It used to be very active in the mid-1980's, then vice squad crackdowns and
AIDS cut the population of streetwalkers way down. A small come-back was
underway in 1995 until the police started cracking down. El Camino Real is a
main commercial artery that runs all the way from South San Francisco to San
Jose, and this is generally the only place where there is much action.
Redwood City between Dumbarton and Jefferson (about a 1.2-mile stretch) is
the best area, and recently there have been between 3-5 girls out each night.
Girls aren't stunning, but there are a few nice ones working (maybe 6-7ish).
The best time is between around 9:30-midnight. The cops DO set up sting
operations and they DO arrest guys picking up tricks, so use caution! In
August-October '95 it was pretty busy, then in early November '95 the Redwood
City Police busted 20 sexworkers (and 24 johns according to the local paper!)
in a 3-day sweep. The Police Capt. recently said, "We've made a good dent in
the problem and we're not going to relax until we extinguish it." Things are
currently pretty slow, but if you are persistent you may find someone.
Massage: Because of lax zoning laws, San Mateo, Millbrae, and
Burlingame were the only cities in the northern half of the peninsula (other
than San Francisco) that have massage parlors. These are all a short cab
ride from San Francisco International Airport, so if you have a 2 hr layover,
you have time to check them out. A recent law in San Mateo forbids them to
use the word "massage" in their title, so look for these in the Yellow Pages
under "Massage," but with names like "Super Tanning and Relaxation," "Asian
Gardens Spa," or something similar. Many are all-Asian or mostly Asian. The
places are safe, very clean, and generally pretty classy. A few even have
weight training equipment and a sauna or whirlpool you can use. My favorite
was Asian Gardens, but most are pretty good. I have tried The Spa, Royal
Spa, and Paradise Spa. Paradise was disappointing, but I think I just got a
crabby girl that night. Prices are higher than San Francisco, generally
$40-50 for a 30 min massage that includes shower and backrub. Tips will be
$40-50 for a handjob, $50-90 for a blow job, and $80-120 for straight sex. I
have never found a girl in these places who does anal sex. Some girls will
do nothing other than a handjob. They often have two prices for handjobs:
$30-40 with their clothes on, $40-60 if they take their top off, maybe more
if they strip completely. Generally, the massage you get is pretty good. In
early 1996 there was a raid at Asian Gardens, Kahala Spa, and Bay Spa and
several girls were arrested, but within a week they were all back in
business. In fall of 1996, a huge raid swept through San Mateo and shut down
these three and some others permanently. Right now, the peninsula is pretty
much dead. But remember: this WAS an election year. The election is over
and I expect things to start opening up again!
4. South Bay (Accurate as of 1991)
Street Sex: I am not as familiar with South Bay, but a few areas are
worth checking out. Downtown San Jose has gone through a major renovation,
and this has pushed most of the girls into other areas. El Camino Real
around Lawrence Expressway in Sunnyvale used to have a lot of girls, and has
now dried up a lot, but may still be worth a look. Another reader reported
that Alameda (Route 82) where it connects to Santa Clara St. in San Jose,
Santa Clara St. between San Jose Medical Center and Jackson, and San Carlos
St. from the Race St area to I-880 all have some girls, but I haven't
confirmed this.
Massage: There are massage places all over the South Bay in Mountain
View, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, and other cities. Nearly all are in the Yellow
Pages. All the massage parlors in Los Altos were shut down early in 1995. I
have limited experience with these, but prices are $40-50 for 30-40 min
shower and massage. Tips for services tend to be a bit higher than in San
Francisco or Oakland. In one place in Milpitas (in 1993) I got a good
topless hand job for $40, but I have no other info on this area.
II. Other California Cities
1. Hollywood (Accurate as of August, 1996)
Street Sex: The street scene in Hollywood has been cleaned up lately.
Either that, or since Hugh Grant got busted on Sunset Blvd., the johns are
staying away, and so are the girls. Traditionally, the best areas have been
Sunset Blvd. between La Brea and Western Avenue (about a 2-mile stretch),
especially close to La Brea, Vine, and Gower. In August, I was there for
several days and did not see ONE working girl on Sunset! You can also
sometimes find them on Hollywood Blvd. (usually the pits in quality), and on
Santa Monica Blvd. from Hollywood all the way out to Santa Monica. There are
numerous other sites reported for street action, but I can't confirm these
and won't list them here.
Massage: The massage scene in Hollywood, and most of greater Los
Angeles is, by and large, a rip-off. There are several places and these are
listed in the Yellow Pages, and others listed in the LA Express, the local
sex magazine. Most have been in business a long time (names haven't changed
in 5-10 years) so you know they aren't doing much that is illegal. I had
mixed luck with Ginza Spa on La Brea about a mile south of Hollywood Blvd.
On my first visit I got a wonderfully sexy handjob from a cute, young
Korean. On my second visit I also got a handjob from a slightly older,
rounder, but very attractive Asian woman named Kim. A year later I went
again, got Kim again (!!), and this time she absolutely wouldn't touch me and
left the door open during the massage. I asked her if she did anything extra
for a tip and she said "No" so maybe they got busted or something. I have
not been back since. The next place I tried was Hollywood Massage which is
on Hollywood Blvd. near Route 101. Despite their sexy looking ads in LA
Express, this was a complete rip-off as they charged $50 or $60 to get in the
door, I was assigned a reasonably pretty Mexican girl, and she absolutely
refused to do anything other than the massage. The massage itself was pretty
lousy too. I'm not sure what the problem is in Hollywood...perhaps an overly
diligent vice squad, but the massage scene is a big zero.
Likewise, I have had bad luck in massage places in surrounding areas. I
tried Sun Accupressure in the 600-block of E. Manchester near I-405 in
Ingelwood. After paying my $40 to get in the door, the 50-60 year-old
Mama-san came in and started to give me a massage. I asked if there wasn't
anyone else working and she said everyone else had gone home and she was the
only one. Without asking, she slipped a condom on and gave me a blowjob!
Not too bad, but she was almost old enough to be my mother! Note that most
of the L.A. area massage places close early, around 10 or 10:30 pm, so go out
early.
2. San Diego (Accurate as of November, 1996)
Street Sex: San Diego is home to more sailors than just about any
other city in the U.S. Street hookers can be found in many business or
commercial areas that are close to the many naval bases and air fields. The
best spot is probably University Avenue between about 70th and 30th. Not a
lot of girls out, but you will find 2-4 in a given evening. My one
experience was anal sex for $50 (a bargain!) with an older (maybe 35-40), but
attractive woman. Recently, they seem to be congregating in a much tighter
area between about 30th and 45th, and the few nights I was out there were
7-10 to choose from. For really hot action, go to Tijuana (discussed in Part
IV).
Massage: Unlike Hollywood, San Diego has a very active massage scene.
One wonders if there is a massage union, because every place I have been in
(7-8 between 1991-1996) all have exactly the same price ($45 for 30-45 min
massage) and nearly the exact operation. In all but one place I've been in,
a handjob is free; some, but not all, girls will do more for a tip: blow job
is about $40-60, sex is $60-80. I never found a girl who would do anal sex.
One contributor said he was unable to find a place that gave free hand jobs.
I don't know what to tell you. Maybe it's my virile manliness (cough,
sputter, gasp :-/), but I have never had a problem getting a free one. The
bulk of the places are on University Avenue between about 25th and 78th
Streets...in the same basic area where streetwalkers hang out. There must be
at least 15 places on this strip, and all are listed in the Yellow Pages.
The ones between 70th and 78th are the best. I recommend making a list from
the phone book, starting at one end of University, and stopping at each place
to look at the girls. Most places only have 2 girls working at a time, and
one is often busy. They are willing to come to the door so you can look at
them. A few places get a bit rude if you don't choose them, but this is a
good way to screen out the nastys. Don't be shy: tell them you are looking
around and may stop back later. At the same time you can check out the
streetwalkers on University Avenue. I can't remember the names of any of the
places I've been, but I have tried 5 different ones on that stretch. Nearly
all have only Asian girls, and they range in looks from 5's to 8's. On a
recent visit, I stopped at Place A (around 77th) and they had just closed.
I went to Place B (around 74th) and a man showed me in, but there was only
one girl working and I didn't care for her. I then went to Place C (around
73rd) where I had an OK blowjob for $60. As I was leaving, I recognized the
girl from Place A, and the guy from Place B standing around, so they must all
be owned by the same operation! The same comments on San Diego apply to the
many massage places in the surrounding communities. Chula Vista, La Jolla,
and many other cities have massage parlors, and they all operate just about
the same. I recently tried a place in Del Mar, about 20 miles north of San
Diego. There are several massage places in this area and they *look* like
service operations, but the one I went to (at 1228 Camino del Mar) would not
do anything. It was $45 for a 30-min massage, she said she was done, and
when I grabbed her hand to put it at the key point, she pulled her hand away
and said, "I don't do that."
3. Orange County/Anaheim (Accurate as of September, 1995)
Street Sex: At Disneyland, if you spill a Coke on the ground, a
uniformed person will race over and wipe the drink off the pavement...so this
gives you some sense of how clean they try to keep the area. Still, there
are a few women working the streets, especially in the surrounding towns.
You might, on rare occasion see one on Katella Ave. near Harbor Blvd., but
the best area seems to be Harbor Blvd. on the stretch just south of the
Anaheim city limits. I saw a few working near the 22 Freeway junction. It's
pretty slim pickins, but with patience you will find someone. Since the only
business in the area is families with small children, one must assume that
the police work hard to keep the area from getting seedy, so watch out for
sting operations and police! In fact, a recent poster indicated that he got
busted picking up an undercover cop in this area!
Massage: There are a few Asian massages places in the Yellow Pages,
but I have not tried any of these, primarily due to lack of time and
opportunity when I have been in the area.
4. Sacramento (Accurate as of 1995)
Street Sex: (I have no information on this)
Massage: Within the Sacramento city limits there doesn't seem to be
any sex-oriented massage places. You need to go to Lodi or Stockton (about
30-40 min south) where there are several Asian places. I have not tried any
of these.
III. Other U.S. Cities
In several cases, the information listed below is based on a single
visit to the indicated city; therefore, don't consider this the definitive
word on any of these locations.
A. NEW ENGLAND
1. Boston, MA (Accurate as of 1991)
Street Sex: (no experience)
Massage: Boston used to be a major sex capital, but most places,
especially the notorious "Combat Zone" have been shut down. The Yellow Pages
list a few massage places, and the only one I found that was not legit was
Old English Spa. There is a $60 entry fee that entitles you to a shower,
then you walk into a large room where 10-15 girls are hanging around watching
TV, most wearing one-piece bathing suits. The girls range from plain to
pretty, I would rate them at 5-8, but no knockouts. When you see a girl you
like, you hand her this ticket you are given and she leads you to a private
room. These rooms have no locks and have a small window in the door! They
will turn down the lights real low and do pretty much anything extra for a
tip. It cost me a $70 tip ($130 total) for a mediocre blow job, so given the
high cost and poor surroundings, I don't recommend this unless you are
desperate.
B. OHIO/PENNSYLVANIA
1. Columbus, Ohio (Accurate as of 1991)
Street Sex: Columbus is the pits for finding sex. The massage
parlors are awful (see comments below under Massage) and street sex is
limited. The only place I have had any luck is on High Street between around
1st and 15th. There are a few girls working on any night and some cheap
motels not far from there that they use. I got a $25 blow job in the car
from a rather plain looking blonde. I saw a very cute black girl working one
night, but someone else picked her up before I could turn the car around.
Massage: There are half a dozen massage places in Columbus and they
are all jack shack rip-offs. The entry price of $60 for 30 min is pretty
steep, but an attractive girl that greets you has a great come-on that
implies she will do more for a tip. The tip, it turns out, will get her to
take her clothes off and that's it! $60 will get the girl to take her top
off, but she won't let you touch her. You are allowed to masturbate while
looking at her. For the $120 it costs you will do better to buy a Playboy
and beat off in your hotel room. I have been in two different massage places
with the same arrangement, and I understand this is how it works city wide.
2. Cleveland, OH (Accurate as of January, 1996)
Street Sex: Prospect Avenue runs east from downtown all the way into
the suburbs. Years ago, as the name suggests, this is where the women would
hang out, but I have checked it out several times in the past 5 years and
haven't seen any. I'm sure they hang out somewhere, but I have no idea
where.
Massage: There used to be 10 or more massage places in the Greater
Cleveland area, but all have been shut down. To get a massage you now need
to venture out about an hour either east or west. The best action can be
found in Warren and Youngstown, about a 1-hour drive east on the Ohio
Turnpike, or in Toledo, about 90 min. west. Only one or two list addresses
and phones in the Cleveland directory, so for a full selection you need to
get a hold of a Warren/Youngstown or Toledo Yellow Pages. (See
Youngstown/Warren and Toledo listings below.)
3. Youngstown/Warren, OH (Accurate as of January, 1996)
Street Sex: (no experience)
Massage: Youngstown and Warren have lots of Asian and a few non-Asian
massage places. The one I went to is on E. Market Street in Warren and is
called something like Oriental Health Spa. It was $45 for one hour, $35 for
half hour, and that included some time in a sauna and a great full body
shampoo followed by a pretty good full body massage. The first time I went,
the girl (I think her name was Penny) was a 9+ Korean with one of the best
bodies I have ever seen, she was very friendly, and gave a first rate blow
job for $70. The second time I had another Korean named Peggy, who was about
a 7-8, wanted $100 for a blow job, so I settled for a hand job for $60.
Still recommended, but not as good as the first visit.
4. Philadelphia, PA (Accurate as of 1993)
Street Sex: I have no experience in Philly, but have seen girls
frequently on Broad Street north of downtown.
Massage: Philly has several great massage places. These are listed
in the Yellow Pages, but I also recommend an adult newspaper available in all
adult bookstores. I think the name is "Action Magazine," but any adult book
store will know what you are talking about if you ask. It includes ads and
detailed profiles on many places. They even have reporters who write reviews
of experiences they have had! A trend in the city since the late 80's is
"Safe Sex" massage places, where for $45-50 (no additional tip required) you
get a full body massage and hand job...and nothing else. The best massage
places are on Race Street. The names have changed a few times, but one is at
1201 Race Street (just a few blocks off Broad St.) and the best one is at
1211 Race Street. Both of these are very nondescript places that have no
massage sign outside; you have to know where they are or you'll never find
them! Both require you to take stairs or an elevator to an upstairs room.
It looks creepy going in, but then opens up to a fairly elegant, classy
operation. Both places are recommended, but 1201 Race assigns a girl,
whereas 1211 Race has every available girl come into your room one-by-one for
a good look, so I prefer the latter. The hostess then asks you to pick your
girl. She leads you to a shower room where you lie on a soft bench and she
soaps and showers you all over. She dries you off and leads you to a room.
They used to have a mattress in the room, but around 1992-93 the city made
them take them out. The girl will put down a small mat, which doesn't
provide much cushioning, but is better than just being on carpet. You'll get

The scene in DC has improved somewhat in recent years. Before
traveling there, two great web sites to check out are Decadent City at

escorts (with pictures!), street action, ripoffs, etc. Also, check out the
City Paper, which can be found for free in blue newspaper stands, usually
near Metro stations. Note that if you plan to get around by Metro, the Metro
stops running at around midnight in most areas. Cabs are cheap in DC, so if
you miss a Metro, hail a cab. You can get almost anywhere in DC for $5 or
less.
Street Sex: Washington used to have a terrific selection of girls,
but AIDS has cut into the business quite a bit. There is also a law in DC
now that allows the cops to impound the cars of johns, so this has cut down
on business. Fewer johns means fewer girls working. The area around
McPherson Square, especially H, I, K, and L Streets between about 10th and
16th Streets is the best site. In the late 80's there would be up to 100
girls working during the night. You could drive through the area and they
would line up at the curb to give you a good look. Traffic got so bad from

relaxation and adult conversation." Now the Yellow Pages and City Paper have
lots of ads. Most offer shower and massage for $60/hr, some offer $40/30
min. I tried a place one block from the Metro Center station that was called
(I think) New World Spa. For $60 I had an adequate massage and for a $40 tip
had a pretty good topless hand job, but she wouldn't do anything else.
Escorts: Check out the WWW sites listed above, or check out the "Adult
Services" section at the back of the City Paper. If you call any ads in the
City Paper, first check the "Rip-Off Report" located at
http://www.clark.net/pub/decadent/ripoffs.html. In general, I would stay
away from any ad that is not an individual. Especially beware of in-call
places with lots of women working. Many are "social ripoff" places that take
your money then say they don't offer anything but talk. I have frequently
had trouble connecting with escorts, but if you are persistent you will
finally score. In a typical evening I may call 20, will get an answering
machine on 10-12, will speak to 4-5 who aren't available that evening, a few
roommates will say, "try tomorrow," and a few will be a little too far out of
the area to make it easily by Metro. I find it easier to connect if you try
to make your arrangements earlier in the evening (e.g., call at 5 pm for a
9pm appointment). Full service runs around $125-175/hr, and seems to
consistently hang at around $150 for most. Women will generally tell you

2. Baltimore, MD (Accurate as of 1995)
Street Sex: I have no personal experience in Baltimore, but several
people have told me that there is an area called "The Zone" north of the
inner harbor where sex workers hang out.
Massage: There are several massage places, mostly Asian, in and
around Baltimore. Most charge $40-60 entry fee, but I didn't have a chance
to try any of these.
3. Norfolk, Virginia (Accurate as of 1993)
Street Sex: Like San Diego, Norfolk has lots of naval/military
bases, so there is a fair amount of action. All the massage parlors are
more-or-less legit, so the street is the main source for girls. Any major
commercial zone is a possible source of girls, but I have seen the most on
Shore Dr. (which becomes E. Ocean View Avenue) between about 2nd and 21st

Massage: Chapel Hill has a couple of places. University Massage (on
College Ave. I think) has an entry fee that is pretty high. It used to be
about $45 for 30 min in the mid 80's, but now it is more like $65-70. This

rate around 5-6. Save your money and go to Raleigh or Greensboro instead.
5. Raleigh, NC (Accurate as of 1989)
Street Sex: I am not aware of any street sex places, although there
are some crummy areas in east Raleigh that probably would be the places to
look, but I never went there. So really, I have no info on street sex.
Massage: Raleigh doesn't have much, but one place worth mentioning is
Tom Cats on Route 70 north of Raleigh (and not actually within the city
limits, more on the border of Durham). Check the Yellow Pages for the
address. I haven't been there since 1989, but recently heard that it is
still there and now offers "private counseling." This is a bit of a weird
operation. You pay a "membership fee" that is $1 or $2 to get you a one-year
membership. They do this solely to get access to your driver's license to
see if you are a cop. (I believe in NC all cops must have a chauffeur's
license so they screen guys this way.) After you pay the $1, you enter a
little foyer where a girl explains the pricing to you. Basically it is (was
in 1989) $40 if the girl keeps clothes on, $60 she's topless and no touching
below the waist, $80 for nude and you can touch anywhere, and $100 if she
takes a shower with you. You have no choice of girls, but everyone I've seen
there has been a 9+. I usually pick the $80 and this includes 45 min of

1. Miami, Florida (Accurate as of 1991)
Street Sex: Miami has shut down all the massage parlors so the

street. Try Route 1 between about 80th and 50th Streets. At 68th and Route

2. Dallas, TX (Accurate as of 1992)
Street Sex: I have no direct experience, but I understand that
HarryHines Blvd. is the place to go. Girls cruise in their cars and make

Massage: Dallas used to have a few places within the city limits
(Palm Island Bath was the best), but they have all moved to an area far north
of the city. Check the Yellow Pages for addresses and phone numbers. This
is about a $40 one-way cab ride, but I negotiated with the cab driver, since
it was a slow night for him, to give me a $50 round-trip. He went down the

car for a day. The places change names a lot and, in fact, Palm Island Bath

1. St Louis, MO (Accurate as of 1995)
Street Sex: (no experience)
Massage: St. Louis used to have a few massage places, but these seem
to have all been shut down or moved across the river to Illinois. Far East
Massage used to be in St. Louis proper, but has now moved to the Illinois
side of the river, but is still listed in the St. Louis Yellow Pages. Around
1988, at Far East I got a nice Asian massage for $40 and a topless hand job
for another $40. I recently called and the price is still the same, but I
didn't check it out. There are several places in Brooklyn, IL (Fantasyland
is probably the biggest) that are only a 10-min drive from downtown St.
Louis. Fantasyland is more expensive, $60/30 min, $80/hr, but is supposed to
be nice; I have not tried it. Fantasyland also offers free limo service to
and from downtown hotels! This area of Brooklyn is pretty dangerous, so

2. Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (Accurate as of August, 1996)
Several posters to this newsgroup indicated that all the escort and
massage ads are in Metropolitan Forum and that this is available from any
Shinders book store. First, Metropolitan Forum is a raunchy adult newspaper
sold for 25˘. Most Shinders stores do NOT carry it, but the main store at
Hennapin and 8th does. It is kept behind the counter so you need to ask for
it. Most adult bookstores probably have it as well. Metropolitan Forum
actually has very few useful ads. It lists simply names and phone numbers,
no other descriptions, so compared to other escort listings (Monday Magazine
in Victoria, City Paper in D.C., Spectator in San Francisco) it is
disappointing.
Street Sex: Most of the women apparently hang out on Lake St between
about 15th and 40th, but I have not confirmed this.
Massage: There are a variety of massage places in the area, and these
are listed in Metropolitan Forum. The Yellow Pages are fairly useless since
there are no ads for either escorts or massage...just names and phone
numbers. I have not tried these, but am told that they are a mixed bag.
Some girls deliver, some do not. For a sure bet, try Night Lights (see next
paragraph).
Escort: Night Lights is the best place in town. They charge $120 for
full service. No tipping required. It is just north of downtown and is
about a $5 cab ride from the downtown area. It is VERY hard to find unless
you know where you are going, so I recommend taking a cab unless you like
doing a lot of driving around. I recommend Joann, a fairly pretty blonde,

side of the river. On any given night you should find between 5-10 girls
working. In 1994 I picked up a gorgeous blonde at 16th and Sandy and had a

escorts, etc. I am told that cops run a sting operation to catch johns, but

2. Reno, NV (Accurate as of 1992)
Street Sex: (no experience)
Massage: So much has been written about the Nevada scene (see
http://www.paranoia.com/faq/prostitution/Nevada.html) that there is little
more I can add. My one experience was with the Mustang Ranch, which is only
about a 15 min. drive from Reno. I had about 9 girls to choose from that
ranged from 6-9 in quality. I picked a really cute little Thai (named Tiwa I
think) who had never tried anal. She agreed to try anal for $100, but
stopped right after we started because she said it hurt. She then agreed to
do a BJ + sex for the $100 and it was well worth it. She told me the girl
keeps 50% and the house gets 50%. All the stories about the girls carefully

3. Seattle, WA (Accurate as of December, 1996)

The few women I saw there were so-so, around a 5-6, but overall it's an OK
experience for the money.
Escorts: My only experience is with the famous Catherine LaCroix.

IV. Non-US Cities
A. London (Accurate as of 1987)
Most of the action in London is in and around the Soho district. There
are several "clubs" that have scantily dressed women standing outside the
door enticing you in. I have not tried any of these, but someone recently
told me that these are a rip-off with outrageously priced drinks. Several
streetwalkers work the area as well, and they are pretty obvious. I found
that streetwalkers aren't necessarily dressed in outrageous clothes. Two
approached me wearing very conventional dress. Straight sex cost about 40
pounds ($50) in the late 1980's. I haven't been there since, and I
understand that the street action is way down, with most girls posting phone

B. France (Accurate as of July, 1996)
1. Paris
Going to Paris in search of street sex is like dying and going to
heaven! There are so many hookers in Paris (one estimate says 50,000 working
in the city!!) that you trip over them wherever you go. I have been told
that Pigalle is a good area, and some girls cruise the Champs Elysses in
fancy cars, but my few experiences are on Rue de St. Denis. If you walk
south from the Pompideau (sp?) Center you will see hundreds (not an
exaggeration) of women, even in the middle of the afternoon. Many girls are
overweight, some are downright ugly, but there are also some 9's and 10's to
pick from. Prices have gone up a bit since the late 1980's, when it was 200
FF ($30-$40 depending on current exchange rates) for straight sex. Now the
prices are more like 300 FF ($60-70). A few girls would still do it for 200
FF, but they were the heavier/older ones. Definitely worth checking
out...but it helps if you know a little French, because I found many girls

2. Bordeaux (Accurate as of 1987)
Bordeaux has a section called "Old Town" with very narrow streets and

C. Tokyo (Accurate as of 1993)
Most of the vices in Tokyo are in an area called Kabuki-Cho in Shinjuku.
Even if you don't feel like sex, take an evening off to walk around this
sin-city-within-a-city which is a short walk from one of the subway stations.
There are many gambling places, adult movie theaters, and lots and lots of
sex. However...this can be a bit tricky to negotiate. Many places have
photos of beautiful, scantily clad girls on display, and they are obviously
available for play, but in several of these places, when I went in I was
told, "Sorry, these girls are for Japanese men only." When this happens,
remember that the Japanese mafia run most of these places, bow graciously and
say, "I'm very sorry, I didn't understand" and leave quickly and quietly.
Most places are NOT marked with English signs, so I found that the best
thing to do is simply walk around the streets looking curious, and before
long, someone (usually an old man) will say in English, "You want a massage?"
Most places charge an entry fee of 10,000 yen ($80-120 depending on exchange
rates), and I believe this will get you a free hand job, although I have
always paid for extras. Most girls are youngish (16-20) and very pretty.
You will get a shower, a reasonable massage, and most girls will give you a

(in rather amusing English) and I was happy to oblige. I was never able to
get anal sex in any of these places, but I'm not sure if they wouldn't do it

D. Amsterdam (Accurate as of 1993)
The Red Light District in Amsterdam is a sight to behold for Americans
who grew up in the oh-so-puritanical U.S. Most travel guides (check your
local book store) and maps even mark the area and call it "Red Light
District" so you should have no trouble finding it. The main train station
is a few blocks from the district so many trains lead to the area. The
District is about a 15-20 block area where women purchase store front windows

detailed, so accurate, and so outstanding that there is very little new that
I can add to it. There is also an entire newsgroup
(alt.sex.prostitution.tijuana) devoted to this amazing city. Just a few
supplemental comments are indicated below. The FAQ suggests that the street
girls are fairly poor, the Adelita bar girls are short and chubby, and the
Chicago Club girls are gorgeous. IMHO, this is overstating it somewhat.
Chicago Club girls are the nicest of the three, but the differences are
fairly slim, at least they were when I went. The girls on the street,
located primarily on the same road (Constitution Ave. I think) that Chicago
Club is on, range from about 3-7, and will cost from $10-$40. The heaviest
concentration on the street are in the few blocks behind Adelita Bar. Many
of the street girls are quite young and pretty, though there are your share

Adelita girls are more friendly and will approach you, or pinch your ass as
you walk by them. The Chicago Club girls score a little higher, at about

At Chicago Club you *must* buy a girl a drink ($8) to get her out of the
bar. Most of the Chicago Club girls will *not* approach you. Many won't
even look at you. You need to make the approach; get a waiter to bring the
girl of your choice over to the table. You will get better results than
approaching the girl directly. The hotels are generally $10 for an hour;
some of the dives go for less. A cab ride from the border is generally $5,
but you may be able to get it for a bit less on a slow night. Tip well at

here you have to cross a large arched bridge that goes over the southbound
traffic lanes. You then need to turn left, walk to a crosswalk, then cross
the many northbound traffic lanes at a crosswalk, taking your life in your
hands doing it. You then follow the sidewalk past all the vendors into the
U.S. immigration area. I showed my passport and was waved right through.
From here you need to exit immigration, make a right, then another right
into a covered walkway with an easy-to-miss sign that says something like
"Return to Mexico/West side parking." This walkway bends and curves,
eventually goes across the highway, bends and curves some more, then dumps
you back at the turnstiles where you first entered Mexico. The parking lots
are to your left.
F. Victoria, Canada (Accurate as of May, 1996)
I have been to Victoria several times in the past 2 years, and have lots
of information to report. For anyone heading to Victoria, you MUST read the
outstanding FAQ at

This report was invaluable to me and I basically agree with everything in it.
Here are my own experiences which primarily confirm and augment what is in
the above report. All prices indicated below are in Canadian $$, which are
currently worth about 70% of US dollars. My understanding of the legal
situation is that soliciting on the street is a no-no, but that escorts
working out of apartments or massage parlors are legal. In fact, one escort
reported that she is "licensed" and "registered with the police" and that the
police will help if she has trouble with a customer.
Street Sex: There are lots of women working the streets downtown in the
area adjacent to the Empress Hotel and Victoria Conference Centre. The main
area seems to be Government St. between Johnson and Humboldt. The active
corners seem to be Government at Johnson and Yates, and Gordon at Broughton
and Courtney, although any of the streets a block or two off Government may
have some action. There are usually about 10 women out on any given
night...and I wouldn't want to touch any of them! A few might rate as high
as 6-7, but the majority are in the 3-5 range. I have also never seen so
many sex workers who are taller and heavier than I am!! Some are also pretty
aggressive...a few times they followed me down the street after I told them
I'm not interested. With such a good escort scene (see comments below),
there is no reason at all to work the streets. I'm not sure of prices, but
one couple (very tall, cute brunette with a short, fat, dumpy blonde) wanted
$200 for the pair. No thanks.
Massage: I have never tried these, but there are several massage places
in the area. Escape and Relax (384-2556) is a full-service massage place
with prices on the order of $65 for hand release and up to $110 for nude hand
release. I inquired if any girls offered full service, the woman put me on
hold a minute, and came back to the phone and said there was one girl working
that evening who did offer full service "for an extra fee."
Escorts: The escort scene in Victoria is incredible. Pick up a copy of
"Monday Magazine" which is a free newspaper that comes out weekly and is
available in bright yellow boxes throughout the city (I found one on
Government near Humboldt street). There is a large listing of escorts in the
back. Some are with agencies, others are independent. As soon as I started
calling around, I realized this was not like the U.S. at all. Women were
quite willing to talk price and activities on the phone; e.g., "How much for
half-and-half?" "$95 for 30 min $150 for an hour." "Do you do Greek?"
"No." I haven't found a single women who was unwilling to explicitly
discuss services and prices over the phone. Many have roomates, and if the
one you want isn't available, her roommate will give you a sales pitch for
herself! Over the past several trips I have probably spoken with 20-30 women
by phone and have visited three. Everyone I talk to has the same deal:
$95-100 for 30 min of half-and-half, $150 for an hour. About 1 in 5 will do
anal sex, usually for an extra fee ranging from as little as $20 to as much
as $100. The WWW report above indicates that ads that say "submissive" or
"willing to experiment" will generally do anal, but I can't confirm this for
sure. Whenever I get in town, I just get a pocketful of quarters, hit the
pay phone, and start making calls. Over the past year, some girls have come
and gone, while others run ads every week.
I tried, and highly recommend, "Asia" who is drop-dead pretty...kind of a Tia
Carerra look-alike...with a very toned body, though a bit on the flat-chested
side (probably barely a B-cup). For $95 she gave an acceptable blow job
followed by exceptionally good sex. She was very nice, and didn't rush at
all. "Xena" actually uses the ad for her ex-roommate "Heather Raye" and is a
tall, cute blonde who I think either lost a lot of weight or had a baby as
she has lots of stretch marks. She did anal sex for $135 and gave a somewhat
lackluster performance, but was still acceptable. "Kelly" advertises as an
"exotic, young, busty, petite brunette," and that she is. She is a pretty
Middle Eastern (or Indian?), and I would rate her body as 8-9. She did anal
for $120, was very pleasent, had a nice apartment, and started with a nice
massage. Highly recommended.
My recommendation for Victoria is to skip the street sex and head
straight for the advertised escorts. When you can get excellent (legal!) sex
for $70 U.S., why mess around with street sex or massage parlors?
G. Seoul, South Korea (Accurate as of August, 1996)
Street Sex: Seoul's street sex is for the very desperate, the very drunk,
or the geriatrically inclined. The main area is in Itaewon (a marvelous
shopping district during the day). Find the Wendy's and you are in the right
block. The women are all aged 50-70! Needless to say, I didn't ask the
price. I spoke with one briefly who told me that I won't find any young
girls on the streets, that I need to try the bars. Itaewon is not on the
main subway line. You need to take the Blue Line to station 28, then take a
cab ($4) or bus (50 cents) to Itaewon. Many hotels run free shuttle buses to
Itaewon, put only during the day time.
Bar Sex: The side streets off the main drag in Itaewon has jillions of
bars. Some are large discos that cater to American GIs, while others are
little holes in the wall. Watch out for the GIs! They get really rowdy and
drunk and will pick fights with anyone who happens their way. I had a nice
long talk with a GI who said that the Koreans are never the problem, it's the
Americans. I was wandering up one street when a flashy Korean woman stepped
out of a bar and yelled across the street to me, "Hey honey, come here!" I
walked over and she asked me into the bar. As soon as I stepped in, she
quickly closed the door and pulled a shade across the door, even though there
were a few other guys drinking in the bar. I looked around quickly to make
sure I wasn't about to get mugged. She was a little too plump for my tastes,
but somewhat cute and busty. It turned out that she worked in the bar
serving drinks. She interrupted me a couple of times to go get one of the
other guys a drink. She offered me a beer for 3,000 won ($4 U.S.), then
wanted me to buy her a drink. Her drink was 10,000 won ($13). I started to
get up to go, but she literally pulled me back into the seat, threw her leg
over mine, and started to rub my thigh. I figured I wouldn't get out of
there without buying her a drink, so I shelled out 10,000 won. It was
already pretty late and I wanted to cut to the chase, so I just asked her how
much for "short time" (quick sex, as opposed to "long time" or all night).
She wouldn't give me a price, just kept saying how much fun she would be. I
had already decided I wanted out, so I used my standard line...tell her I
want to do anal sex, she says no, and I walk. She doesn't say no, but says,
"I do anything you like honey, but it expensive." Ah, we're getting close to
price her. She finally said I would have to buy her 10 drinks to get her out
of the bar. I said, "so you want 100,000 won ($128) for short time" and she
said, "Oh no, that just get's me out of bar, I cost more money." I could see
where this was going so I said, "Look, I only have about 100,000 won on me,
so I better go." She then said, "You want whore. Find them on street. Much
cheaper." So much for Itaewon. There may indeed be really gorgeous girls
working the bars, but they are probably an astronomical price, since this
babe was no great shakes. My GI acquaintance told me that some bars have old
women who will approach you, rather aggressively, and offer young girls for
short time. I never saw one of these (unfortunately).
Massage: I did not try the massage places, but saw signs for a few. Many
barbershops have women working in them who will give handjobs along with a
decent massage. Note that there are separate men's and women's shops; only
the men's have what you want.
Turkish Baths: My only reasonable experience of the entire trip was my
trip to a Turkish Bath. You will find these scattered throughout the city,
and many nice hotels even have them. I checked two and the price was 100,000
won ($128) for both. This seemed expensive, and I was concerned that this
was just the entry fee, but by this point I was getting desperate so I paid
up. The girl I gave the money to was drop-dead gorgeous, but when I was led
to a room, another, much less pretty girl came in. She was nice, maybe a
5-6, but I wanted the 9+ who led me in. I politely said that I would prefer
the other girl, but she feigned a lack of understanding of English, and after
a few minutes of trying to explain, I gave up. By the end of the session, I
realized that her English was just fine; she just didn't want to lose the
customer! So now I'm out $128, I have this only moderately pretty girl, what
else could go wrong? She started to fill the tub, asked me to get in, then
dropped a sealed 1-pint carton of milk in the tub with me. This is getting
odder by the minute. She had me get out and lie down on a vinyl table and
proceeded to wash me off, including a VERY thorough washing of my most
sensitive parts. She then excused herself, turned the lights off (there was
a little light coming through the window in the door so I could barely see),
and I could see that she was stripping off all her clothes. While I was
lying on my stomach, she poured oil all over her breasts and began to massage
my feet and legs with her breasts. She even "scratched" my feet with her
pubic hair. She gradually worked her way up to my back, running her tongue
all over me as she went. This was, needless to say, a highly remarkable and
arousing sensation! She then flipped me over, started on my feet again, and
worked her way up to my chest. If you figure out your anatomy, you realize
that her crotch is now sitting right on top of mine. She then slide back a
little and gave me a truly magnificent hand job, moaning and grinding her
crotch into my leg the entire time. It was an Oscar-winning caliber
performance. Afterwards, she washed me off some more, took out the milk
carton (now warm from floating in the hot tub), and rubbed the milk into my
skin all over, then rinsed it off. She said, "Milk massage good for skin."
She finished by giving me a shampoo.
In summary, despite many reports that Korea has "millions of brothels," I
had trouble finding anything reasonably priced, or for that matter, anyone I
would even want to fuck! The Turkish bath route, albeit only a hand job, is
an expensive but reasonable alternative. I am told that the barbershop
massage is a similar experience.
V. General Tips and Info
A. How to Find Sex In a City You Have No Info On
Most of the times I have found women in a strange town, I have had no
information such as the World Wide Sex Guide or other marvelous resources now
available on WWW, so I just had to wing it. I have found the following to be
useful resources when I get into a strange town. For many of these, having a
rental car is a must. For $40 a day, this is usually a good investment.
These comments obviously refer to the U.S. In foreign countries you're on
your own!
1. The Yellow Pages
This is the single most useful book you will ever use to find sex! Look
for listings under Escort, Massage, and if that fails, Night Clubs or
Entertainment. Places that list under Escort AND Massage will always provide
full service. Massage places that take out big ads will always provide it!
Massage places with the word Asian or Oriental in the title always offer it.
The word "Executive Spa" is usually a key that it's full service. Places
that are open until 2 a.m. are also a good bet, since no one goes in with a
bent back at 2 a.m. Massage places that don't offer sex will make it
clear..."Therapeutic Massage Only" or "CMT" or "State Licensed" or other
indicator that they are strictly legit.
When calling for information, don't phone from your hotel! Phone
numbers you called often stay on file at the hotel or appear on the bills you
turn in with your expense reports, and can come back to haunt you years
later. An enterprising reporter or FBI agent can easily turn up this kind of
information the next time you are up for a government security clearance, a
Senate confirmation hearing, if you are running for public office, or even if
a fellow employee is out to get your job. You never know what you (or your
wife, brother, or children) will end up doing, so be discreet. Think of the
following headline: "Father of Mayoral Candidate Frequented Brothels" if you
want to get cold chills running up your spine!
2. Adult Book Stores
Adult book stores are useful to find (look in the Yellow Pages under
Books-Retail) because (a) streetwalkers often hang around adult book stores
(that's where I would hang out if I was looking for horny men with money to
spend), (b) many such stores carry adult magazines and papers that list where
the action is; I know that Philadelphia, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and
other cities publish weekly/monthly newspapers that tell all. © If all else
fails, I hold out a $5 bill and ask the owner, "Where do the streetwalkers
hang out in this town?" and you can usually get a straight answer.
3. Local Newspapers
As mentioned above, many adult bookstores carry magazines with local sex
info. Many cities often have sex newspapers free or for sale throughout the
city. Washington D.C. (The City Paper), Los Angeles (L.A. Express), San
Francisco (Spectator and The Pleasure Guide), Victoria (Monday Magazine),
etc. all are sex oriented, or have sex ads in the classifieds, and are
available in magazine racks on many street corners. Even the mainstream
papers often have escort or massage ads in the classified sections.
4. Adult Theaters
The same argument applies as for book stores. Adult theaters tend to be
in areas where streetwalkers hang out. Find the theater and there will be a
hooker nearby.
5. Military Bases
Wherever there are armed forces, there will be women trying to pick up
military men. Find a military base on the map, locate the nearest major
commercial street, and cruise it for an hour with a car and you will be 90%
certain to strike gold. This worked well for me in Norfolk and San Diego.
Also see #5 below for how to locate streets to cruise.
5. Commercial Zones
OK, you have struck out. This town has no listings in the Yellow Pages,
no adult book stores or theaters, and no military bases. I believe every
town with a population over 50,000 has sex workers in it, so your mission, if
you decide to accept it, is to find them. Get out a map of the town, and
look up Night Clubs, especially any that have topless dancing or "adult
entertainment." Mark the streets on the map. Now look up motels and see if
there is a pattern as to where the cheap motels are. In many cities, these
areas will be the same, and there's a good chance that this is where the
hookers are.
6. Cab drivers, Bellmen
A friend of mine used to be a bellman, and he said he got all his really
good tips telling guys where the hookers were, so he always kept his list up
to date. Likewise with cab drivers. Find a guy in the 35-50 age range, hold
up a $5 or $10 bill (depending on how desperate you are) and ask where you
can find streetwalkers or escorts in the town. If he doesn't know, slip him
$1-2. If he knows, it will be worth the $5-10 investment. I have even heard
of bellmen who will get a girl and deliver her to your room for a tip!
B. Legal Stuff and Tips to Protect Yourself
1. Cops
In most towns, the police have little interest in picking up men, and
many cops live in mortal terror of arresting a guy that turns out to be the
police chief's brother-in-law or the mayor's son. This isn't always true,
and arrests of johns do get publicized to give the impression that they do
this sort of thing a lot, but generally if you keep a low profile you should
be OK. Raids and sting operations invariably pick up just before election
time, so October shoppers, beware! Here are a few general guidelines I
recommend.
a. Picking Up Girls on the Street
Female cops DO work the streets sometimes...there was a great looking
blonde working a San Francisco Bay Area city a few years back that several
girls warned me about. But there are 3 things female cops will almost NEVER
do: (1) approach you first (this is entrapment), (2) get in your car (this is
very dangerous for them), or (3) show any private parts of their body (this
is illegal, and is also probably entrapment). They do NOT have to identify
themselves as cops. I have heard guys say that if you ask, "Are you a cop?"
and they say "No" then all is well. This is nonsense. Therefore, if you see
a girl on the street, do the following:
(1) If she seems to be ignoring you, drive on. A real hooker will do
something to get your attention like wave, smile at you, nod, walk over to
your window, flash a breast, etc.
(2) When they approach, most women will say something like "Are you
looking for company?" or "Do you want a date?" I always say, "I may be.
Could you show me something a cop wouldn't show me?" Most girls know this
routine and will then expose a breast. If she says, "What do you mean?" just
say, "Sorry, I thought you were someone else. My mistake." Then drive away.
(3) Before you say anything about money or sex, ask the girl to get in
your car. A few legitimate hookers are nervous about getting into a car with
a strange man, but a cop will almost NEVER get in, so this is a good way to
screen out the cops, even though you might lose a real working girl or two in
the process.
b. Going to a Hotel
Sometimes the police will have an eye on a hooker and will wait till she
is picked up, follow her to a hotel, then break in and arrest you both. I
actually had this happen to me many years ago! I picked up a girl, found out
later that she was on parole for prostitution, and took her to a motel where
she had a room. In the middle of a blowjob a cop walked in! As it turned
out, he had no warrant to enter the hotel room, and just wanted to scare us
both (it worked...I was scared shitless!), and he let me go. Having had this
happen once, I now follow these rules:
(1) When going to a hotel, make a few odd turns and look in your rearview
mirror to see if any car is following you. I usually tell girls what I am
doing so they don't get nervous, and most are relieved to see I am cautious.
If someone follows you for more than a few turns, drop the girl at the hotel
and drive on. I usually tell the girl what I am doing if I plan to drop her
off and most are appreciative that I am watching out for them. This can get
you a discount the next time you see her!
(2) When you arrive at a hotel/motel, look around to see if anyone is
sitting in a car watching you. The time I got busted, I did notice someone
just sitting in a car in the parking lot and thought nothing of it...and he
was the cop!
(3) Put a chain lock or other security latch on the door. If a cop tries
to open the door (they rarely knock...they get the key from the manager),
they won't get in. This at least gives you time to get uncoupled, get your
clothes on, put away the rubber chicken, get rid of the $50 she left sitting
on the dresser, etc. There's not much they can do if you are merely in a
room with a girl. Some girls get nervous when you chain the door, so again I
always explain why I am doing it. I've never had to try this, but I've been
told that if a cop does ask what you are doing there, just say, "I picked
this girl up in a bar and she invited me back to her room to have sex." No
law against that...but if she is a "known prostitute" you could still be in
trouble.
c. Busted!
OK, you got careless and a cop is now staring at you while your cock is
in this girl's mouth. I repeat that most cops aren't after the guys. Be
polite, look repentant, don't try to bullshit your way out of it, and you are
90% certain to be let go. If you have no arrest record, I can almost
guarantee it. Make sure you don't have any outstanding warrants for silly
things like unpaid parking tickets if you are going out on the streets! Cops
*will* do a warrant check on you. If you do get hauled in, my only
advice...get a good lawyer and pray. In most parts of the U.S., this is at
worst a misdemeanor. You will be dragged into court and fined.
2. Rip-off artists
I have been ripped off twice by hookers, and both times were easily
avoided. The ploy is usually the same: Once I went into a hotel room, I put
the money on the bed, the girl said she had to use the bathroom at the end of
the hall, and she was gone with my money. The second time was a variation of
this. A girl took me to a motel, I paid her in the car, she said "Wait a
minute while I check to see if the coast is clear" and disappeared. A simple
rule is: Never let the girl out of your sight if she has your money!! After
the above two incidents, a girl tried this on me, and I said, "Before you go,
I'd like to hang onto my money until we are in the room." She reluctantly
gave it back...then disappeared.
3. AIDS/STDs
There are several major Internet groups discussing risk of AIDS and
other STDs so I have little to add here. I will simply say (I am an MD who
does cancer research, so there is some wisdom behind this): (1) Always use a
condom. If used properly, your risk of AIDS and other STDs is minimal. (2)
If you do anal sex, be extra careful since this usually causes some minimal
rectal bleeding in most women. Lots of lube is a must here. (3) Use a
condom for oral sex, although I have never seen a single report of a man
contracting AIDS via oral sex (I have been told that there have been a few
unconfirmed cases). There is a somewhat greater risk for women, especially
if she has open sores (including herpes or cold sores) in her mouth. (4) If
you have any cuts on your fingers, don't insert your fingers in her vagina or
anus. The primary route of transmission of AIDS is into blood. The reason
so few men (some would say NO men) have contracted AIDS from prostitutes is
because men don't provide easy access to the blood stream via their penis or
fingers. If you have cuts on your fingers (or a penis that is sore from too
much fucking or beating off...this may be what happened to Magic Johnson who
claims 15-20 partners a day!) you increase the odds astronomically. Remember
though that there are two parties to every sex act. Your risk of AIDS from
unprotected oral sex may be pretty low, but the woman's risk is much greater.
Show a little humanity and wear a condom. I have written a detailed review
of HIV in sex workers from around the world and post it periodically to this
group. Watch for it if you want all the technical/medical details.
C. How to Negotiate
I am astounded to read reports of men who paid $150-200 for straight sex
on the street or in massage parlors, when I have been in the same places and
gotten it for one-third that price. I think a lot of it is in how you make
the approach. Here are some tips.
1. How and When to Negotiate
I never met a girl who wouldn't negotiate a price. The trick is knowing
where to start. I once would have happily paid $100 for anal sex with a
woman when she said she did anal, but I first offered her $35 to start the
negotiation, she said "Go fuck your cat for that" and walked off. The first
offer needs to at least be serious. This often depends on the city, the
girl, and many other factors, but my usual starting offer is as follows:

If it is a slow night, she will probably take less. If the girl is
gorgeous (and the other girls are dogs) she will probably want more.
Sometimes you may be surprised at what you will get. I once offered a girl
in D.C. $50 for anal, figuring I'd have to go up to $100, but she said,
"O.K." I ended up giving her $70 for a BJ + anal, but I never would have
guessed I could have gotten it for that. Another girl on the same street
wanted $100 for anal. Go figure.
I have also heard from several girls that near the end of the month they
will take less, because they get welfare checks early in the month and the
money is gone by week 3. They also seem to take less in bad weather simply
because they want to get out of the cold or rain. This is especially true in
cold weather. Once I picked up a girl in San Francisco on a very cold night
and it turned out that she didn't have a room of her own so we couldn't go
anywhere, but she said, "Mind if I sit in your car for a few minutes to warm
up?" I drove her around for 15 min and she pointed out all the cops, the
transvestites, the girls to avoid, the girls who had rooms, etc. I got quite
a nice free education and she got warm!
2. Be Polite/Clean and the Price Will Drop!
I have talked to girls who double the price if the guy is fat, gross,
smelly, or rude. I am reasonably good looking, but more important, I'm
clean, dress fairly well, and I treat every woman with respect. Brush your
teeth before going out! I'm convinced that this gets me better rates than
many others going to the same girls. One girl even said, "You are nicer than
most of the guys I pick up" and gave what I thought was extra-special
service. Smile, be polite. As the saying goes...treat a woman like a whore
and she'll be a whore.
D. Escorts
I am pretty new to the escort game, having only started using escorts
within the past few years, so this is mostly information coming from the
mouths of babes. I have had some luck meeting escorts through the Internet
(!!) which gives me a chance to converse a bit with them, maybe exchange a
GIF electronically, etc. Services like America-On-Line offer a Member
Directory search where you can do a search on "escort AND female AND sex AND
Dallas" and you will come up with some names for a particular city you can
e-mail to. I have met a few this way and had mixed results. Some WWW sites
have personal ads for escorts...some have pictures! There are dozens of
these, but I don't have time to list them all, so get creative and find them
yourselves. I also note that many are starting to "advertise" in
alt.sex.services, alt.sex.brothels, alt.sex.prostitution, alt.sex.escorts.ads
and other newsgroups.
Many cities offer "sex papers" that carry escort ads. In Los Angeles,
it's "LA Express," in Victoria it's "Monday Magazine," in D.C. it's "The City
Paper" and in San Francisco it's "The Spectator" and "The Pleasure Guide."
Unless they have pictures, you have to trust the descriptions they give.
Local conventional newspapers also often have escort ads. Also, many
"alternative" free newspapers are less reluctant to run escort ads. The
Yellow Pages will frequently have an "Escorts" listing, but these are nearly
always agencies...which is OK, but it will usually cost you more since the
agency takes a big cut.
In Canada (and most other countries besides the U.S.) you can just call
up an escort and negotiate price on the phone. In the U.S., women need to be
much more careful, so they use lots of code words like "$200 for full
service" which can mean just about anything. If you are looking for a
specific type, ask for a description and *take notes* so you can complain if
the person who arrives is nothing like the description. If you meet an
escort and she really isn't what you had in mind (e.g., the young, petite
Korean they sent you is a 6'2" Algerian mud wrestler named "Spike"), just be
polite. Say, "I'm sorry, but you aren't what I had in mind." If they came
to you, it's appropriate to give them $20 or so for their trouble. If you go
to them (in-call at their house) I don't think you need to feel obligated to
tip them unless you want to. If they were grossly misrepresented on the
phone, I wouldn't give them a tip.
Escorts will generally cost you $100/hr on the very low end, an average
of around $200, and through some agencies you can pay $300-500 for a quick
lay. If this kind of money makes you crabby and nervous, stick with massage
parlors. Despite what many escorts will tell you, they aren't *really* any
better in bed or more professional than a good massage parlor worker, but
what you generally do get is someone more attentive and intelligent, someone
you can almost develop a relationship with as supposed to the mind-numbing
anonymity of a street or massage encounter.
E. Who Am I?
I am a white MD oncologist in my mid 40's living in the San Francisco
Bay Area. After breaking up with a girlfriend in 1984, and going without sex
for about 6 months, I began looking at streetwalkers and picked up my first
